New Ways to Protect Your Summer Skin

Despite the warnings and statistics, sunburns are on the rise.  In fact, a recent Skin Cancer Foundation study indicated 34% of women NEVER use sunscreen.  Why? Because people don’t seem to want take the short time necessary to apply the correct sunscreen, wear protective clothing or even find a spot of shade from time to time.

So what can we do, outside of the obvious regular application of sunscreen and careful monitoring of time in the sun, to help protect our skin?  Try using products that work with your busy lifestyle like these:

-          Start using body washes that include an SPF

-          Use a laundry additive (like SunGuard) – it adds ultra-violet protection level 30 to your clothes

-          Keep quick and easy-to-use sunscreen wipes handy at all times – in the your car, purse and desk

-          Try a new foaming sunscreen - a small amount of this non-sticky, mousse-like protection covers and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

So as the summer sun intensifies, so should your efforts to protect yourself from the harmful rays that damage skin, accelerate the aging process and increase the chances of getting skin cancer.
