Students give thanks by thanking a farmer

This Thanksgiving season, the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture has created an activity to help young students understand how foods reach their holiday tables. 



Farm transition planning workshops scheduled

Farm transition and estate planning workshops will be held Nov. 14 at the Bedford Campus of Central Virginia Community College and Nov. 15 at the Rustburg office of Virginia Cooperative Extension in Campbell County.



USDA announces enrollment period for safety net coverage in 2017

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency announced on Oct. 28 that producers on farms with base acres under the safety net programs established by the 2014 Farm Bill can begin signing contracts to enroll for the 2017 crop year.
