Feeding the world is the subject of an award-winning documentary that will be screened Nov. 28 and 29 at the 2016 Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention at The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.

The 2016 Virginia Farm to Table Conference will be held Dec. 6-8 at Blue Ridge Community College’s Plecker Workforce Development Center. The event will focus on local and regional food and agriculture, practical applications for soil health and farm profitability, and other food system topics.

Virginians will be able to feed their families a Thanksgiving meal for about $4.40 per person this year, according to an informal price survey conducted by the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation.

Last year’s shortage of canned pumpkin should not be an issue for consumers this year.
