The Virginia Board of Game and Inland Fisheries made a decision at its June 2 meeting to allow elk hunting in 28 counties, pending a clear elk management plan that is agreed upon by agriculture leaders and other stakeholders.

Dr. Dixie Watts Dalton of Kenbridge was named the first honoree in the Virginia Farm Bureau Lady Leader recognition program March 21 at the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Women’s Conference in Roanoke.

Jeannie Dudding of New Castle was named Virginia Farm Bureau Federation’s 2015 Farm Woman of the Year March 21 during the VFBF Women’s Conference in Roanoke.



Shenandoah County woman named Farm Bureau Ambassador

Whitney Bowman was named the 2015 Virginia Farm Bureau Ambassador on March 21 at the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Women’s Conference in Roanoke.



Three Virginia farmers recognized as outstanding farm employees

Glenn Chappell III of Dinwiddie County, Aaron Crowgey of Wythe County and Roger Scott of Culpeper County were recognized as this year’s Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers Outstanding Young Farm Employees.
