Training scheduled for farm-to-restaurant marketing

HARRISONBURG—Virginia Cooperative Extension will offer two training events in November for farmers interested in making products accessible and appealing to restaurateurs.

Each six-hour course is designed to help producers market goods to meet buyers’ expectations, overcome obstacles and build networks with other growers and Extension staff. Farmers who supply produce, meat, eggs, dairy products or value-added goods will learn best practices for supplying larger-volume markets.

The training will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10 at The Gathering Place in Harrisonburg and Nov. 17 at MidAtlantic Farm Credit in Winchester. Registration is $15 per person and includes lunch and training materials.
