Top Tech Devices for Drivers Over 50

If you’re older than 50, including smart headlights and an emergency response system in your vehicle’s package of options could help you be a better driver.

 

In a recent report ranking the top technologies benefiting older drivers—specifically those over age 50—smart headlights and emergency response systems came out ahead, by improving night vision and offering assistance in an accident or other emergency situation. The average age of car buyers today is 51.

 

The report, which evaluated 25 new automotive technologies, cites 10 systems and devices for enhancing the abilities of older drivers, including:

  2. Emergency response systems
  3. Reverse monitoring systems
  4. Blind spot warning systems
  5. Lane departure warning
  6. Vehicle stability control
  7. Assistive parking systems
  8. Voice activated systems
  9. Crash mitigation systems
  10. Drowsy driver alerts
