A new study reveals that most women who lose jewelry don’t replace it simply because they didn’t have enough insurance to cover it. Don’t let this happen to you!
Some of your jewelry may be covered under your renters or homeowners insurance policies. For more valuable pieces, you may want to consider additional insurance to cover repair, loss, and theft.
To get started, make a list of all of your jewelry—including appraised values. Then review it with your Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance agent to evaluate your best options. When you add new pieces to your collection, contact your agent to include it in your coverage. And be sure to discuss with your agent how often you should reassess your jewelry’s value to make sure you’re properly covered.
If your jewelry is lost or stolen, it’s helpful to have a photograph of the piece. This can help law enforcement officials recover lost jewelry. It can also help a jeweler re-create your piece to match the original.
