Election website tracking candidates’ stands on ag issues

WASHINGTON—As the Democratic and Republican parties prepare for their respective national conventions, the American Farm Bureau Federation continues to share information on where the parties’ presumptive nominees stand on farm and rural issues.

FB Advocacy Election ’16 at election16.fb.org tracks the candidates’ views on agriculture-related subjects.

Dale Moore, AFBF executive director of public policy, recently told the Capital Ag Press, “We are definitely in the research stage of where the candidates stand on issues important to farmers and ranchers” like trade, food safety and security, immigration reform and biotechnology.

“We want to make sure the voices of our members are heard,” Moore said. “There’s too much at stake to take a back seat and watch this process.”
