AITC program receives Monsanto grant

RICHMOND—For the third consecutive year, the Virginia Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom has won a Monsanto Outreach for Agriculture Award for its programming.

Monsanto, in cooperation with the Agriculture in the Classroom Consortium, presented grants of $5,000 to the AITC programs in Virginia, California and Indiana at the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference in late June.

The Virginia AITC foundation will use the funds to develop a series of magazines for classroom use by children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Agriculture in the Classroom is a national program that promotes greater understanding of agriculture through education. The Virginia AITC foundation is a nonprofit affiliate of Virginia Farm Bureau.
