Dr. Jessica Jones, an agriculture education teacher and FFA advisor at Tunstall High School in Pittsylvania County, took top honors Nov. 29 in the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation’s annual Young Farmers Discussion Meet.

Virginia newspapers, TV and radio stations earn VFBF Journalism Awards

The Free Lance-Star in Fredericksburg claimed Virginia Farm Bureau Federation’s 2016 Ishee-Quann Award for Media Excellence, which recognizes the best of all entries in the organization’s annual Journalism Awards competition.



AITC Teacher of the Year applications due Nov. 1

Applications are being accepted through Nov. 1 for Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom’s Teacher of the Year recognition.



Essay contest winners attend vice presidential debate at Longwood

Virginia Farm Bureau Federation named 17 winners of a student essay contest that focused on the future of agriculture in light of population projections for 2050.



Botetourt student named Outstanding Young Agriculturalist

Davis Fenster of Botetourt County was named this year’s Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Outstanding Young Agriculturalist. He was recognized July 30 at the VFBF Young Farmers Summer Expo.
