Washington County educator named Virginia AITC Teacher of the Year

Donna Musick of Washington County has been named Virginia’s Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the Year. The award recognizes efforts by a teacher to incorporate agriculture into his or her core curriculum.

In 2003, Dinwiddie County farmer Alvin Blaha learned about a program called AgrAbility that helps farmers with disabilities continue to work. He was the second person in Virginia to receive help from AgrAbility Virginia, one of 24 state-level affiliate.



AITC awards 25 mini-grants for school projects

Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom awarded more than $12,500 in grant funding to 25 schools and other education programs through its mini-grant program this fall.
