Virginia Farm Bureau’s most recent member magazine shares a couple of farm success stories facilitated by a Farm Bureau affiliate organization.

Producer members’ September issue of Virginia Farm Bureau News magazine includes stories of farm operators who had plans to expand or re-direct their businesses. They did so with help from the Virginia Foundation for Agriculture, Innovation and Rural Sustainability, which was created in 2004 and spearheaded by Farm Bureau.

September’s magazine also shares highlights from the annual Young Farmers Summer Expo. The three-day event was held in early August for farmers and others with a passion for agriculture.

Associate members, your next issue of Cultivate magazine will arrive in October.

Current and back issues of both magazines can be viewed online.

On Real Virginia, Virginia Farm Bureau’s weekly television program, you can learn about Virginia apple season and craft cideries; meander along the Virginia Oyster Trail; find out how farmers are making a difference for Hunters for the Hungry; and get a look at what’s growing in the agricultural powerhouse that is Southampton County.

Real Virginia can be viewed online and airs nationwide at 3:30 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month on RFD-TV on Dish Network and DirecTV, and on selected cable outlets around the state. It airs weekly on WVPT Harrisonburg, WBRA Roanoke, WCVE Richmond, WHRO Norfolk, WVVA Bluefield and WTKR Norfolk.
