ETTRICK—Virginia State University’s Aquaculture Program will hold its annual Fish School from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 9 and 10 at the university’s Randolph Farm Pavilion near Petersburg.

Participants will receive formal and hands-on instruction. The program will cover species and marketing, aquaculture nutrition, water quality and fish health, farm pond management, cage culture, aquaponics and recirculating aquaculture systems.

Registration is $25 per person and includes lunch both days.

VSU’s Small Farm Outreach Program will hold two free Introduction to Quickbooks sessions at the university’s Singleton Hall, Room 304.

The sessions will run from 9 a.m. to noon on June 28 and July 12. Participants will learn how to create invoices and sales receipts, enter and pay bills from vendors and download bank and credit card transactions directly into Quickbooks. They also will learn how to export reports so they can be used in Excel.

Seating is limited to 20 people per session.
