Virginia Farm Bureau elects new treasurer, names first general counsel

Virginia Farm Bureau is pleased to announce that David Priddy has been elected treasurer and Marc Follmer has joined the organization as senior vice president of legal counsel and finance. 

Priddy, CPA, CGMA, has been elected treasurer of the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, the Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co., and all affiliated and associated companies. In addition, he continues his title and duties as senior vice president of accounting and business services.

Priddy had served as Farm Bureau’s assistant treasurer since 2005. He has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of domestic and international accounting as both a public accountant and in private industry. 

Priddy holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of CPAs.

Follmer has joined Virginia Farm Bureau Federation as senior vice president of legal counsel and finance. Previously, he was senior vice president for SunTrust Bank, where he negotiated the purchase and sale of financial assets. Before joining SunTrust, he served as senior advisor to Gov. Tim Kaine, and he has held senior legal positions with BBVA Compass Bank in Birmingham, Ala., and Merrill Lynch in London and New York. 
Follmer is Farm Bureau’s first general counsel and will be responsible for all corporate legal matters, including corporate governance, transactional matters and business strategy planning. 

A member of the Virginia Bar, he holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Miami University and a juris doctor degree from the University of Dayton School of Law. He completed Notre Dame Law School’s Concannon Programme of International Law in London.
