Southeast Tops HVAC Claims

The Southeast leads the country in total claims related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) damage, according to the 2013 Annual Claims Report released by HVAC Investigators.

Surprisingly, despite widespread damage in the Northeast during Superstorm Sandy, the Southeast still saw more HVAC claims for 2013—a total of 29 percent of all claims. The Southwest ranked second with 26 percent, and the Northeast a distant third with 16 percent of all claims.

The three most common types of reported HVAC claims include lightning, hail, and theft/vandalism.
