Henrico County Snags Traffic Safety Program Award

Henrico County recently snagged top awards for its outstanding traffic safety programs.

For the first time, Henrico County’s Division of Police was recognized with a national award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police. The division also received Virginia’s top award from the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police for the seventh year in a row.

The awards are presented as part of the annual Law Enforcement Challenge program promoting professionalism in traffic safety enforcement. Judges score entries in six key areas: policies and guidelines, officer training, incentives and recognition, public information and education, enforcement, and evaluation of effectiveness. The Virginia Challenge is held in cooperation with the National Challenge.
