Ready for some Virginia-grown strawberries? Wondering how soon you can savor a local tomato?

You’ll also find articles on grant funding for homeowner conservation projects, and Thomas Jefferson’s extensive gardens at Monticello.

Producer members, your next issue of Virginia Farm Bureau News magazine will arrive in September.

Current and back issues of both magazines can be viewed online.

On Real Virginia, Virginia Farm Bureau’s weekly television program, you can find out what gets made with Virginia-grown timber and what, exactly, your local soil and water conservation district is for. You also can visit cut-flower farms and see what’s at the heart of agriculture in Essex County.

Real Virginia can be viewed online and airs nationwide at 3:30 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month on RFD-TV on Dish Network and DirecTV, and on selected cable outlets around the state. It airs weekly on WVPT Harrisonburg, WBRA Roanoke, WCVE Richmond, WHRO Norfolk, WVVA Bluefield and WTKR Norfolk.
