Specify Alternate Text

Outback horseman extraordinaire Guy McLean will perform and hold clinics at the third annual Virginia Horse Festival March 24-26 at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County.

McLean is an Australian equestrian performer whose team has traveled all over Australia and the U.S. exhibiting horsemanship and keeping alive the traditions of the Australian bush and the Aussie stockman.

He is among dozens of demonstrators and clinicians who will take part in the three-day festival. The event will be held at the birthplace of Secretariat and will feature a Secretariat birthday celebration.

  • New this year: in honor of Secretariat’s birthday, Meadow Hall tours will showcase the Chenery Collection of rare Meadow Stable memorabilia. Attendees also will have the opportunity to meet members of Secretariat’s original team. And a special showing of Disney’s feature film Secretariat will include commentary from team members.

  • The festival also will welcome the statewide 4-H EquiSmartz competition for a third year.

  • An indoor trade show and outdoor vendors will feature a wide range of horse-related supplies and services.
