National Farmers Market Week is Aug. 6-12, just in time for peak-season produce like berries, peaches, peppers, sweet corn and tomatoes.
With help from dedicated heirloom seed savers, some farmers are offering a taste of the past with their specialty produce.
Tomatoes are good sliced, diced, on a slice of bread or tossed in a salad. There are any number of both sweet and savory recipes using fresh summer tomatoes.
