Congressional candidates outline agricultural priorities

RICHMOND—Voters concerned with agricultural issues can make informed decisions this election season, thanks to a comprehensive questionnaire completed by many of Virginia’s congressional contenders.

Virginia Farm Bureau Federation sends a questionnaire to all state congressional candidates regarding issues important to Virginia agriculture. Their responses can be viewed at bit.ly/AgPACcandidateQA.

“Congressional elections are an opportunity for every Virginian to cast their vote and voice their opinion on the direction they hope to see from the United States Congress,” said VFBF President Wayne F. Pryor. “VFBF has asked every congressional candidate to provide responses on issues that are likely to impact farmers and rural communities. We receive responses, and we share those responses unedited so that our members and any interested voter can decide for themselves what they think about the answers.”

Many candidates answered questions regarding access to prescription livestock medications, veterinarian and domestic labor shortages, tax code reform and the farm bill.

Early voting is ongoing through Nov. 2. Election day is Nov. 5.
