Child safety guidelines for farms available online

MARSHFIELD, Wis.—A coalition of farm and ranch parents and agricultural organizations, including the American Farm Bureau Federation, has released a set of guidelines to help parents and others in assigning appropriate tasks for youth who live or work on farms and ranches.

The first 20 in a set of 50 guidelines are available at cultivatesafety.org/work in an interactive format, as well as in read-only and print versions.

The Cultivate Safety site also includes resources related to creating and maintaining safe play areas on farms, and to safety procedures related to agritourism venues.
