Winter doesn’t freeze access to farm-fresh foods

This month Real Virginia, Virginia Farm Bureau’s weekly television program, will show you what kind of foods are available at winter farmers’ markets, and how one historic resort keeps local foods on guests’ tables in even the coldest parts of the year.

The program also visits Buckingham County, where farming activity takes place in all kinds of weather. And it shares an award-winning author’s thoughts on constructive food conversations.

Real Virginia can be viewed online and airs nationwide at 3:30 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month on RFD-TV on Dish Network and DirecTV, and on selected cable outlets around the state. It airs weekly on WVPT Harrisonburg, WBRA Roanoke, WCVE Richmond, WHRO Norfolk, WVVA Bluefield and WTKR Norfolk.

If you are a Virginia Farm Bureau producer member, your January issue of Virginia Farm Bureau News magazine should arrive soon. Associate members, your next issue of Cultivate magazine will be published in February. Current and back issues of both magazines can be viewed online.
