Virginia agriculture thrives in the Washington suburbs, on Real Virginia

Featured this month on Real Virginia, Virginia Farm Bureau’s weekly television program:

  • During the holiday season, dairies and creameries utilize milk that would otherwise be used for ice cream to produce eggnog.

  • The price of purchased food is expected to increase between 11% and 12% against prices in December 2021 due to rising input costs for farmers.

  • Stafford County’s agricultural landscape amid the Washington suburbs is featured in this month’s County Agricultural Close-up.

November’s first episode can now be viewed on the Real Virginia YouTube channel. The second episode, which is scheduled to premiere Dec. 15, also will be available on YouTube.

Real Virginia airs nationwide at 3:30 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month on RFD-TV on Dish Network and DirecTV, and on selected cable outlets around the state. It airs weekly on WBRA digital channel 15.2, WHRO Norfolk, WVVA Bluefield and WTKR Norfolk, and on the first and third weekends of each month on WVIR Charlottesville, WHSV Harrisonburg and WRLH Richmond.
