Sauteed Berries

This recipe was prepared by Chef Tammy Brawley on Real Virginia, Virginia Farm Bureau’s weekly television program.

Brawley, who holds a degree in culinary arts and owns The Green Kitchen in Richmond, Va., shares delicious seasonal recipes in a Real Virginia segment sponsored by Virginia Grown, a program of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.


Sauteed Berries

1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons butter
½ pint raspberries
½ pint blackberries
½ pint blueberries
gelato, ice cream or whipped cream


In a sauté pan, melt sugar and butter over low to medium heat. Add in berries, and gently sauté for about 2-3 minutes. Remove to a serving bowl. Top with gelato, ice cream or whipped cream.
