File an Insurance Claim with Ease
Whether you’ve sustained damage to your vehicle or your home, it’s important to know what information you need to expedite a claim. No matter the situation, always exchange insurance information with any other parties involved. Once you’ve done that, all claims should be reported to your local Farm Bureau office. We’ll be here each step of the way.
How to file a claim:
- Gather necessary information—while certain types of claims may require additional information, be sure to have the following on hand:
- Policy Number
- Your owner contact information and best times to contact
- A full description of damage and/or injury
- Insurance and contact information of other parties involved
- A full description of damage and/or injury involving other parties involved
- Photos of damage, both close-up and far-away if possible
- Report your claim as soon as possible—consider utilizing our Claims Worksheet to have all information handy
- To file your claim, call our Claims Department at 800-452-7714
What to expect after filing a claim:
- A Farm Bureau claims representative will contact you—your representative will walk you through next steps and set up an appraisal to assess the damage.
- If liability is in question or if other parties were involved, a field claims representative will be in touch—your representative will handle the liability investigation and any injury claims.
- Your property will be appraised for damage—this usually occurs within a week of filing your claim.
- If you need temporary accommodations, your claims representative can help—for instance, if you cannot live in your home due to damage or if you need a rental car, Farm Bureau will help with that process.
- Repairs will be authorized and completed.
