Lamb Burger with Tzatziki Sauce
This recipe was prepared by Chef Tammy Brawley on Real Virginia, Virginia Farm Bureau’s weekly television program.
Lamb Burger with Tzatziki Sauce
Tzatziki Sauce:
2 cups sour cream
1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and minced
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
½ teaspoon lemon zest
¾ teaspoon chopped dill
kosher salt and coarse ground pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients well and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving with burgers.
Lamb Burger:
1 pound ground lamb
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon allspice
2 teaspoons chopped cilantro
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon coarse ground pepper
2 tablespoons tomato paste
buns for serving
Place all ingredients in a large bowl, and mix well by hand. Form patties and grill to desired temperature. Serve with tzatziki sauce.
