Dairy and berries create delicious summer treats
Many Virginians like to celebrate National Dairy Month by enjoying a delicious dessert like this parfait.
Yogurt Berry Parfait
2 cups yogurt (lowfat or fat-free, plain or vanilla)
1 cup sliced banana
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
other optional fruit (raspberries, peaches, pineapple and/or mangos)
1 cup granola
Line up 4 parfait or other tall glasses. Spoon about 1/4 cup of the yogurt into each glass. Top each with about 1/4 cup of fruit. Next sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of granola. Repeat the process until all ingredients are used. Serves 4.
