Crispy Maple Cabbage

This recipe was prepared by Chef Tammy Brawley on Real Virginia, Virginia Farm Bureau’s weekly television program.

Crispy Maple Cabbage

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon grainy mustard
1½ teaspoons pure maple syrup
½ head large cabbage
salt and pepper to taste

Heat oven to 400°.

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, mustard and syrup.

Cut the cabbage into 1” wedges. Place wedges on a large, foil-covered sheet tray. Brush the side facing up with the olive oil mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Place in the oven, and roast for 20 minutes.

Remove from the oven, flip the wedges over, and brush with the remaining olive oil mixture. Place the tray back in the oven, and roast another 20 minutes, or until wedges are browned and crispy. Serve warm.
