Orange County beef producer Thomas E. Graves of Orange was recognized Jan. 30 for 15 years of service on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors.

Virginia’s farming community was well-represented by the next generation of agricultural leaders at the recent American Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers competitions in Salt Lake City, where Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers contestants competed for placement at the national level.

The Virginia Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom is pleased to introduce the Doug Stoughton Memorial Scholarship opportunity for graduating high school seniors and current college students pursuing a future in agriculture or education.

Children across the commonwealth will examine greenhouse gardening and discover the unique qualities of popular fruits and vegetables during Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom’s 2024 Agriculture Literacy Week.

This fall, agribusinesses, community groups, county Farm Bureaus, FFA chapters, 4-H clubs and individuals across Virginia created unique displays with hay bales to compete in Virginia Farm Bureau Federation’s annual Hay Bale Decorating Contest.

Gary Cross of Southampton County was elected Nov. 29 to a three-year term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors.

The first couple ever recognized with the Distinguished Service to Virginia Farm Bureau Award was announced Nov. 30 at the organization’s 2023 Annual Convention in Virginia Beach.
