Farm women from 26 counties converged in Central Virginia to hear from renowned cattlewoman, author and professor Dr. Temple Grandin.

While farmers are busy tending to their land and livestock, state lawmakers soon will be busy debating and voting on policies that impact those agricultural activities. As more than 50 freshmen legislators adjust to their leadership roles—many in newly mapped districts—farmers wonder how they can all get on the same page.

Virginia Farm Bureau Federation members will join thousands of other Farm Bureau producers from across the country as they discuss and adopt national agriculture-related policies during the 105th American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention & Trade Show.

Gary Cross of Southampton County was elected Nov. 29 to a three-year term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors.

The first couple ever recognized with the Distinguished Service to Virginia Farm Bureau Award was announced Nov. 30 at the organization’s 2023 Annual Convention in Virginia Beach.

Craig County and Patrick County Farm Bureaus were honored Nov. 29 by the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation for projects conducted in their communities in 2023. The two organizations were recognized during the 2023 VFBF Annual Convention in Virginia Beach.

Pittsylvania County beef, poultry and tobacco producer Robert J. Mills Jr. of Callands was elected Nov. 29 to a fifth three-year term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors.

Orange County beef producer Thomas E. Graves was elected Nov. 29 to a sixth three-year term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors.

Jeannie L. Dudding of Craig County was elected Nov. 29 to a second three-year term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors.
