Apple Squares

This recipe calls for butter, brown sugar, cinnamon—and apples! Is there a better combination? This dessert soon may be your new family favorite.

Apple Squares

½ cup butter, melted
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup diced apples
½ cup chopped pecans

Heat oven to 325°.

In a saucepan, melt butter and mix with sugars, egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt and
cinnamon together. Add to liquid, and beat until smooth. Stir in apples and pecans.

Grease an 8" square pan with cooking spray. Pour batter into pan, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool, and cut into
nine squares.
